Our area of practice includes vessel arrests and pre-judgment attachments, cargo claims, charter party disputes, regulatory matters and personal injury defense.
Suman is an integral part of the Wanchoo Law Offices team that runs the New York office on a day to day business. Working closely with Rahul Wanchoo, she helps ensure that the finance department and the office run smoothly.
Rahul Wanchoo, Managing Partrnerr of our Firm, is a former master mariner, and a
graduate of New York Law School in addition to holding an LLM in Maritime Law from
the University of Wales, College of Cardiff, U.K. Rahul has been practicing law since
1996, and founded our Firm in 2006.
Mr. Wanchoo has years of experience litigating, negotiating in, and arbitrating
international commercial and maritime-related disputes. He has acted for ship owners,
charterers, P&I Clubs, and individual litigants in pre-suit negotiations, arbitration, trial,
and on appeal. Rahul is a diligent and steady advocate in disputes ranging from maritime
disasters to individual breach of contract.
Aglaia Davis has spent her career on perfecting the art of legal research, brief-writing,
and complex litigation analysis. She has briefed litigation-related issues to the Second
Circuit, Supreme Court of New Jersey, and the highest Court in Maine. She is
experienced in procedure both in New York and New Jersey Courts, and has worked on
cases from pre-litigation through appeal.
Aglaia received her J.D. in 2001, and began her career as a Judicial Law Clerk in New
Jersey, where she researched and wrote draft opinions. From there, she focused her
career on litigation-based writing. She has experience in all facets of civil – and some
areas of criminal – litigation.
At our Firm, Ms. Davis handles pre-suit demand letters, legal research, complaint
drafting, discovery, trial preparation, motion and brief writing, and appeals.
Manoharan, joined the firm in 2005 as a Paralegal. Before joining the Firm, he worked
with various law firms in India as a legal secretary for about 25 years, and successfully
handled a variety of assignments. He is a law graduate from the prestigious University of
Delhi. He is an experienced paralegal with excellent office management skills and has
considerable experience in drafting and filing of pleadings, analyzing discovery requests,
preparation of content specific case files and legal research.
